joining Carolina Dance Masters... here's how it works!
1. Contact
Leslie Ingram, our Membership Chairman, and let her know you're
interested
in joining Carolina Dance
Masters. She will send you a packet of information on the
process.
2. Carolina Dance Masters, using guidelines
from Dance Masters of America, has
revised the levels of
membership in the organization. Please see each of the
following as it may
pertainto your individual situation:
To join CDM having a Degree in
Dance from an approved institution of higher
education:
Guidelines for Degreed Membership (pdf)
To join CDM having had a
professional career of at least (3) three years:
Guidelines for a Professional Membership (pdf)
To join CDM through examination
for Certified Membership:
Guidelines for Examinations for Certified Membership (pdf)
3. To review for these exams we hold a study
session each October. (See our
"Important Dates" page )
You are not required to attend this study session and may
study on your own if you
so choose. You may purchase the manuals by contacting the
membership chairperson.

4. We give exams two times a year. The dates
will be listed in your packet and also on
this website. Just be
sure to let the Membership Chairman know which exam session
you would like to attend.
5. When you join Carolina Dance
Masters, you are also a member of the National
organization,
Dance Masters of America. They also hold several events
each year
to enrich not only
your knowledge and professional career but also that of your
students. for more
