This is our page dedicated to our members. Since
our "Newletters" are on the link to the left, this page will be for
important updates that members should be aware of. Please check back
often.
New Year Begins
2011-2012.... The new information for our 2011-2012 year is
being added to the website now and throughout the next month. Our goal
is to have all the new rules, forms, and information needed by the first
week of August. Please continue to check the website in the next month
or so. As a member you a should also be receiving your yearly rules
packet in the mail as well.
Don't Forget.....2011-2012 is an "Election" year. You will be
receiving ballots for nominations in the mail by mid October. Being a
Board Member means that you are there for CDM. If you
accept a nomination make sure that you have the time and the energy to
fulfill your obligations.
2011-2012 Dues must be postmarked by September 1st...Remember,
that to participate in the competitions that CDM has to offer and to
receive member rates, your dues must be postmarked by September
1st.
I hold all checks until September 30th
before depositing them. However, you may pay your dues after the
September 1st deadline but not be eligible for member rates or
competition events.
What you must remember is that if you are dropped
for non-payment of dues, you will have to pay one year back dues and the
current year to re-instate. HOWEVER,
according Nationals rules you may only re-instate ONE TIME IN A
LIFETIME. If it happens a second time you would
have to
re-take all of your exams again. So,
whether you make that deadline of September 1st or not, get your dues in
and keep your membership current!!!
Have you heard?....We now have the capability to register your
PAC entries online and not have to print out any forms. Everything, once
you hit the last "click" will go straight to Jenny Griffes' computer.
CDM now sends all important information through E-Newsletters!!!....Make
sure that you check your email for newsletters that now come from
Carolina Dance Masters. We are really heading into the 21st century with
most of our information coming in over the internet. Please be sure to
let us know if your
email address changes.

New classifications of
membership.....This is something that was brought up at
the National Convention this past summer. They did pass this, however we
as a chapter can make additions/adjustments on the definition on a
chapter level, but we do have to recognize the various classifications
that Nationals has adopted.
The new list of classifications was brought up at the recent Grand-body
meeting and it has been finalized.
Active Membership
Active CE (Continuing Education)
Degreed
New!
Professional
New!
Honorary
Honoaray CE (Continuing
Education)
Life Membership-
All of these classifications have just been included in our By-Laws and
Standing Rules. Secretary Suzanne Mills sent information on these in
your rules packet that you receive in the mail. If you have any
questions please contact her.
Please note: According to National rules should you
stop paying your dues or are dropped from CDM you may re-instate "once
in a lifetime" without taking exams. If you have used your "once in a
life time" re-instatement then without further penalty
then ALL members (no matter what
classification) would be required to take them
exams to re-join.
